South Wye Police Boxing Academy is at the heart of an enormous amount of activity. Both in and around Hereford and has become part of the fabric of the town. Embracing every opportunity to support and give back to members and fellow organisations. One of which is prominent football club Hereford FC.
For the 2022 / 2023 season, South Wye Police Boxing Academy sponsored Hereford FC defender Zak Lilly.
Zak, born on the 25th June 1998 in Birmingham. He established himself as a central defender with previous club, AFC Telford United. Turning down a new contract offer in favour of making the switch to Edgar Street in the summer of 2022.
It was at AFC Telford United where he emerged onto the senior stage and loan spells with Leamington, Rushall Olympic, Romulus and after that Tamworth gave him a good grounding into competitive senior action.
Former manager Josh Gowling had this to say about Zak Lilly: “Zak has bags of potential and at this level and has plenty of experience. He’s strong in the air, good on the ball and has the confidence to succeed at this club. I’m looking forward to working with Zak because he has the attitude to want to push on in his career.”
South Wye Police Boxing Academy is proud to connect and support another local club. Especially one with the heritage, legacy and stature of Hereford FC.
On the 22nd of August 2022, Head Coach Paul Catten visited Edgar Street to meet Zak, along with other Hereford FC players and Manager at the time, Josh Gowling.
South Wye Police Boxing Academy and Paul thank the club for their wonderful hospitality. We hope to see some players in the gym at our club sometime!
All the best for the upcoming season guys and above all thank you for the opportunity to further involve our club within the local community!
